Ukrainian championship 2014/15 has started

On January 10/11 the first stage of Ukrainian bandy championship held at the stadium in Budy of Kharkiv region. 5 teams took part in the tournament: Avangard Budy, BC Lypkuvativka, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Dynamo Kharkiv, Kharkiv Tigers. Under the rules of the competition line-up of every team consists of goalkeeper and 7 field players, every match consists of 2 half by 30 minutes. Finalists of the last championships played in the opening match. Home team had a victory agains Dnipro by 3:2.

International challenges for Ukrainian youth team

Players of youth Ukrainian team are preparing for main event of 2014/15 season.

Youth team departs to the World Championship U-17, that will held on January 23-25 in Sarpsborg Norway. During preparing to the championship the training camp will held in Otvidaberg Sweden in the international youth camp on January 19-22 with help of UBRF president Sergei Babenko. Line up of Ukrainian youth team: Melnychuk M. (gk), Skalytskyi M., Nagoga A., Shvedchenko I., Arabov B., Riabolov A., Holets V., Suharov B., Shmatchenko K., Vatagin O. Coaching staff consists of Andrey Markovichenko and Oleksandr Mitlenko.

We want to remind, that UBRF on its conference decided not to participate in the World Championship in Khabarovsk.

UBRF Conference

On november 26 the regular annual UBRF Conference was held in Dnipropetrovsk. Questions of participation in the international competitions, national calendar, bandy popularization and redistribution of powers of Executive Committee were reviewed by the Conference.
Main question for players and fans, it's participation of Ukrainian team in the World Championship in Khabarovsk. Executive Committee had preliminary decision about non-participation in the WC, but several players asked to review this decision, and Conference had to take a final decision about this question. During the discussion there was no supporters of trip to Russia, and Conference decided to refuse to participation in WC in Russia this year. Instead, delegates proposed to take part in the European Championship in Davos or another FIB tournament. Also the line-up of Ukrainian youth team for WC U-17 in Norway was approve. Andrey Markovichenko was invited as a main coach. And a player of "Shturm" team Olexandr Mitlenko will be a coach. Majority of players is from Dnipropetrovsk.
Regulations of Ukrainian championship 2014/15 were approved. Ukrainian championship will consist of 3 preliminary rounds and the final match. This rounds will held in Dnipropetrovsk, Budy and other city (Zhovti Vody probably). Ukrainian cup will held in the end of the season. In spring the youth Ukrainian championship will held, in Kremenchuk probably. And the innovation will be this year - the exhibition match of two leading teams will held on the neutral field, it may be Kyiv or village in Poltava region.
Also organizational issues were reviewes. In order to departure of UBRF president to extended business trip to Finland, part of his powers were vested to another members of the Executive Committee. Hennadii Babenko will be an executive secretary of the Federation, head of Kharkiv federation Anatolii Iavdokymenko will supervise internal competitions, and Ihor Skalytskyi will supervise youth bandy.

Start of the new season

On September 18, 2014 the new Ukrainian bandy season started in Dnipropetrovsk at "Mist-Ice" rink. The first tour of "Dniproliga-2014/15" was held this day. "Zaryad", "Zenyt", "Girnyk" from Dnipropetrovsk and "Avangard" from Budy participated in first tour. Visitors took a first positions after two victories and 1 draw.
